Evaluations are mandatory for all players!

Our AMBA travel teams participate in the Calgary Minor Basketball Association (CMBA) league, therefore we are obligated under our partnership with CMBA to assign players to teams based on skill level. Your child must participate in the evaluation process to be placed on a team. If your child cannot attend the evaluations, they will be assigned to the lowest-tiered team until such time as they can be reassessed. Reassessment is not guaranteed and will be determined on a case-by-case basis. 

If you cannot make one or more evaluation session you must email vicepresident@airdriebasketball.ca. 

Players should arrive 30 minutes before the first evaluation session and 15-20 minutes before all subsequent sessions.

You may assist with checking your child in, but we ask that parents leave for the session.

Basketballs are limited. Please bring a basketball sized to your age level if you can. Athletes will not be allowed to use any other basketball size for evaluations. Your child must bring a pair of clean indoor athletic shoes and a water bottle. We recommend clearly marking your child's name on all items you bring to evaluations.  

Evaluation Requirements and Structure:

This the Final Gameplay session with dedicated 5v5 gameplay, where players will be evaluated on court awareness, game strategy, ball handling and team mindset. (see your email for specific times)

Call for Volunteers:

We are in need of two volunteers for September 3 and two volunteers for September 4 to assist with player checkin. If you are able please sign up for one of these positions by clicking on the sign up link. Volunteering for this role once will fulfil half your volunteer commitments for AMBA  per athlete registered.

Volunteer Payment Reminder:

A friendly reminder for those who paid by E-Transfer, KidSport, or JumpStart, you must provide a $200 deposit cheque payable to Airdrie Minor Basketball Association and post-dated March 25, 2025, per athlete for volunteer hours. We must receive each athlete's $200.00 deposit cheque at the evaluations for your child to participate. Alternatively, you can e-transfer the $200.00 volunteer fee per athlete to treasurer@airdriebasketball.ca. Your account must be paid in full so your child can attend evaluations.
