Jr. NBA | NBA | WNBA Official Program​

Our Jr. NBA program is designed for young kids to learn the fundamentals of basketball in a fun, engaging environment. The program focuses on basic skills like dribbling, passing, and shooting while promoting teamwork and sportsmanship. Kids build confidence and develop a love for the sport through friendly competition. Emphasizing inclusivity and enjoyment, Jr. NBA creates a supportive atmosphere where every child can thrive, make new friends, and have a blast on the court!

AMBA is an officially sanctioned Jr. NBA partner through NBA Canada, delivering the NBA’s youth basketball program right here in Airdrie. Our program follows the official Canada Basketball Grassroots Development curriculum endorsed by the NBA and WNBA.

Alberta Basketball & Canada Basketball Membership

AMBA is proud to be a member of Alberta Basketball Association and Canada Basketball Association. Your registration includes access to the Jr. NBA program, and a combined membership fee of $27.00 will be collected at registration to cover provincial and national association fees, including liability insurance.

Our coaches follow practice plans based on the official Canada Basketball Grassroots Development Program, designed to create a fun, active, and healthy learning environment that introduces children to the game.

Scheduling

Practice Information


AMBA strives to schedule practices within Airdrie whenever possible. However, due to gym availability, some practices may be held in nearby communities such as Crossfield or Balzac.

Practice Days

Practices occur once a week, typically scheduled on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, depending on coach and school availability.

Consistency

Practice days may change from season to season, but once set, AMBA tries to keep practice nights consistent for each team throughout the season.

Schedule Changes

Because of varying gym schedules, practice times and locations may occasionally change week-to-week.

It’s important for parents and players to check the weekly practice schedule regularly to stay informed of any updates.
