Welcome to the Airdrie Minor Basketball Association — where kids grow through basketball!

We’re a volunteer-run nonprofit serving Airdrie families since the mid-1990s. With over 480 young athletes across multiple programs, we partner with schools and community groups to make basketball accessible, affordable, and fun for all skill levels.

At AMBA, we focus on skill-building, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a positive, inclusive environment. Our dedicated volunteer coaches — many of them parents — help players grow on and off the court.

Whether your child is new to the game or a returning player, they’ll find a place to learn, compete, and enjoy the sport. From practices to tournaments, we offer opportunities that foster confidence, friendship, and a lifelong love for basketball.

Who We Are

🏆 Registered Non-Profit AMBA is a volunteer-managed registered non-profit in Airdrie, Alberta. Founded in the mid-1990s, we provide youth ages 5–18, coaches, and referees with safe, cost-effective team-based recreation and opportunities to develop their basketball skills.	🏊 Our Programs We offer Jr. NBA, Mini House, U11, U13, U15, and U18 programs, plus a Spring League. From first-time beginners to competitive travel teams, there’s a place for every player in Airdrie.
🤝 Community Partners AMBA is a proud member of the Calgary Minor Basketball Association (CMBA), Alberta Basketball, Canada Basketball, and Volunteer Airdrie. Our travel teams compete across the Calgary region.	💪 Volunteer Coaches Our coaches are dedicated volunteers — many of them parents — who give their time to help players grow on and off the court. We’re always looking for new coaches and volunteers to join our team.
