AMBA Board of Directors: WE WANT YOU !

It’s that time of year again where the City of Airdrie Minor Basketball Board of Directors starts planning for the upcoming season of community basketball.  We've had a fantastic group of volunteers this year making up the AMBA Board & Committee, working hard behind the scenes to provide a great basketball program for all of AMBA's players.  While we've enjoyed working together this past season (and for some, over many years), several of the members have decided to move on for the upcoming season.  We are now seeking the next group of highly motivated individuals to volunteer and bring forth their efforts to continue making AMBA a success.
We would like to ask that all parents take some time to think about how you can contribute to the success of AMBA next season.  We understand that stepping into a new role of unknowns can feel overwhelming.  We want to make the process for all new members coming in as simple and straight forward as possible.  We'll do our best to provide help and guidance to all new members, and assist them through the transition process as they learn their new role.  If you have any questions, would like further information on a specific position(s), or would like to put your name forward as a nominee, please contact us via email at

(The Registrar position needs to be filled for the 2020-2021 season, but a volunteer is required to begin next season (2019/2020) to shadow the current Registrar).

Our AGM will take place in June, where all members in good standing with AMBA are welcome to attend and will vote in the 7 directors (voting members) of next year's Board.  Our goal is to have a nominee identified for each Board & Committee position by that meeting, to help make the transition for the new Board members as easy as possible. 

As we look forward to the fall season, we will not open player registration until all Officer positions are filled and practices will not start next season until all remaining vacant positions are filled.  It is essential that all roles be filled by volunteers in order for the program to operate.  We appreciate your understanding with this and are looking forward to welcoming in the new Board & Committee members.
