U18 Notes Fall Season:
Team Formation:
Teams are created based on the skill level of the player, using evaluation information. The AMBA team formation committee has the best interests of the individual player and teams as a whole when placing players. We will not accept requests to play on a specific team as each player is placed where they will have the most opportunity to learn and grow, while seeing as much court time as possible.
The intention is to place teams of similar skill level together to create a fun and competitive season. It’s important that players and parents do not focus on the division level they are placed at.
Games:
- Played in Calgary within the CMBA program. These games are scheduled by the CMBA (and not by the AMBA) and can be in ANY quadrant of the city.

Practices:
- AMBA attempts to schedule practices within Airdrie, however, based on gym availability, this is not always be feasible (Crossfield and Balzac are the out of town locations also used for practices).
- Practice days are determined by coach and school availability and will change from season to season.
- Once practice days are determined, we attempt to keep practice nights consistent for each team from week to week. However, due to varying gym availabilities, there are some weeks where times and locations may differ, so it’s important to check the weekly practice schedule each week.

Girls U18 Winter Details 3x3 FIBA Format
- 3 Day Tournament (Dates Below)
- January 27th, 2025
- February 10th, 2025
- March 2nd, 2024 (leading up to Youth Provincials in Edmonton for an open tournament registration any team can register with ABA for March 11th & 12)
- Teams get 4 - 10 minute games per tournament
- A total of 12 games over three tournaments
- 1 Practice Total *Minimum of 2 Teams required
- $150-200 - Per Players
