Our 2018 AMBA AGM is in the books! Thank you to all those who came out to attend and make it a great evening. As we move towards the 2018 - 2019 season, we'd like to provide a few updates of some of the activity that transpired at our AGM:
We have three Directors who will be leaving our Board. Amy Mulholland has invested countless hours in her role as Volunteer Coordinator in addition to her coaching duties and overall support for the AMBA and it’s mission. Her work has helped strengthen the volunteer structure of our organization and her hours spent in the gym assisting all those who needed a hand has been invaluable. Amy has done a terrific job of coordinating volunteer activity which can be a challenge on the best of days based on the diversity of the role requirements.
Jesse McNeil will also be moving on after spending a number of years working with the AMBA in a variety of roles including President, and most recently, as Secretary. Jesse’s attention to detail, love for the sport and strong communication skills are easy to see and they have helped strengthen the organization as a whole, setting us up for long term success. Similar to Amy, Jesse has spent hours and hours working tirelessly to move our organization forward and look after the smallest details, ensuring as best an experience as possible for our members and thinking “bigger picture” about the AMBA’s future.
Treasurer Chris Sensabaugh will be transitioning out of his role and taking a well deserved break from preparing cheques and handling the financial side of AMBA affairs - Chris’ financial and accounting acumen has proven of great value and brought peace of mind and stability to the organization.
Amy, Jesse and Chris will be assisting our new Board members as they transition into their roles and carry on with the accountabilities of their new positions. On behalf of the AMBA, we want to thank you all for your commitment, support and wish you the very best for the future.
We would like to welcome some new members to the Board for the upcoming year: Barb Sensabaugh, Jenny Stevenson, Angie Seerup and Stephanie Arcus who will be filling the roles of Treasurer, Volunteer Coordinator, Secretary and Equipment Assistant respectively. We look forward to your contributions and thank you for your support.
Congratulations to Emma McNeil and Madi Woolf (pictured below) as recipients of our 2018 AMBA Memorial Scholarships!
Our Board is working diligently to open up registration for the upcoming season and are excited about some of the developments and "value adds" on the horizon for AMBA members. The future is bright and we'll continue to stay in touch with ongoing updates as the season approaches. See you on the courts!
